Ayo Dosunmu identifies his game-winning tip-in as the better Atlanta memory than his career-high on Monday

Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu has found his favorite city to hoop in—Atlanta. Although the third-year pro registered a career-best performance on Monday, tallying 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including five triples, in a 136-126 road victory over the Hawks, Dosunmu said that may not be his best basketball memory in the ATL.
Buzzer-beater
Dosunmu said that as memorable as his latest performance against the Hawks was, it pales in comparison to the buzzer-beating putback he converted on December 21, 2022, that sank the Hawks. He scored only nine points in that game, but his final two which came off a loose ball scramble after a miss by DeMar DeRozan, lifted the Bulls to a 110-108 win.

“I’d definitely say the tip-in,” Dosunmu said when asked which performance stood out more.
“That was a fun time. Today was fun, too, just knowing how big this game was. Just losing to Orlando, knowing that we’re trying to climb up in the standings. So this was fun, too. I’ll say it’s about even.”
Two-way performance
As terrific as Dosunmu was on offense, his defensive work against Hawks All-Star Trae Young was just as crucial. The Illinois product tag teamed with reserve Jevon Carter to stymie the crafty guard and hold him down to only 19 points on 3-of-14 shooting. Young also missed all but two of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc.
“It was a two-way performance by him,” Bulls coach Billy Donovan remarked.

“For him to do what he did offensively and then to play the defense he did was a remarkable performance on both ends with the number of minutes he got.”
