Despite starting this season with a woeful 11-16 mark, Chicago Bulls are still adamant that the team can make the NBA Playoffs if its roster can get healthy. With key player Lonzo Ball yet to suit up this season, the Bulls appear to be holding on to the belief that the two-way guard's return can turn their fortunes around.

Unwavering belief

According to a report by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Chicago Bulls have rebuffed the inquiries of other teams on potentially trading away several of its assets led by five-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan and versatile big man Nikola Vucevic. Instead, the team is staying firm on its belief that a healthy roster can still make them a postseason contender.

"Chicago officials have told inquiring teams they believe they can make the playoffs when healthy," wrote Fischer.

However, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN recently reported that there is no guarantee that Ball would suit up this season after undergoing his second knee surgery this year in September. He tore his meniscus in January, underwent surgery to repair it, and has since struggled to recover.

Even though the Bulls have a surplus of guards such as Alex Caruso, Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, Goran Dragic, and rookie Dalen Terry, none has been able to replicate the impact Ball had on both ends of the floor.

The vultures are circling

The Bulls have had a roller-coaster ride this season, which is not what it envisioned after finishing last season with a 46-36 record and giving the powerhouse Milwaukee Bucks a scare in the first round.

With the February 9 trade deadline fast approaching, rival teams are keeping a close eye on the Bulls and its decision-making.

Some of the rumored trade targets are Vucevic and DeRozan, who may be able to help playoff teams looking to add another star in the postseason. However, the Bulls' commitment to pushing for the playoffs strongly indicates that they will not pull any trigger while they still have a chance.
