With a brand-new, three-year, $36-million-contract in his pocket, Chicago Bulls guard Coby White can now focus on helping his team accomplish its goal of making noise in the Eastern Conference. While the numbers from last season may not reflect it, the University of North Carolina product has made substantial strides in his game by showcasing improved ballhandling, defense, and decision-making.

The 6-foot-5 guard, though, remains hungry and is eager to continue his progress come next season.

"Really just polish my overall game, continue to get better in that," White said about his goals during a talk with Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson.

List of goals

White already has a list of goals he wants to accomplish heading into the new season. He has already publicly stated that he wants to earn a starting position and continues to put in the work to prove himself worthy of such a spot.

"Continue to polish my overall game, continue to get better at ball-handling-wise, trying to get to the free throw line a little bit more playing and pick-and-roll, playing in the paint, playing off two feet," White said.

More experience

Although the season did not end the way the Bulls had wanted it to, White is choosing to look at the positives. He especially remembers the last game when they were eliminated by the Miami Heat—who eventually made it all the way to the NBA Finals.

"It was a good experience for us to experience that: a single elimination game, not something you really experience in the NBA," White said. "But it was good for us. We beat a good Toronto team then lost to Miami, and they wound up going to the Finals. We don't look at it as like that would have been us. But we look at it as it was right there."
