Dalen Terry did not get a single vote for the All-Rookie teams

How will the Chicago Bulls prospect respond to this?

Chicago Bulls rookie Dalen Terry did not receive a single vote for the league's All-Rookie teams, breaking a three-year stretch by the franchise where its rookies made it to the All-Rookie second team. The result, though, was not surprising given the lack of opportunities Terry had with a Bulls team that was planning on making it back to the NBA Playoffs this season after getting ousted from the first round last year.

Spot minutes

The Bulls selected the Arizona product with the 18th overall pick. However, his path to a spot in the rotation and consistent minutes were hazy from the get-go. Although Bulls' guard Lonzo Ball was out indefinitely, the team still had sophomore guard Ayo Dosunmu and Alex Caruso. The Bulls also signed veteran guard Goran Dragic in the off-season.

The 20-year-old ended up playing in just 38 games, totaling 214 minutes. He averaged 2.2 points and a rebound in about six minutes of playing time.

Going to keep working

Indiana Pacers wingman Benedict Mathurin, who earned a spot on the All-Rookie First Team, knows what Terry is all about and is confident he'll figure it out and bounce back in his sophomore season. The two played together in college at Arizona.

"Most of the guys who come into the league don't have minutes. They feel like it's the end of the world. But the one thing Dalen doesn't do is he never gives up," Mathurin said. "He's going to keep working on whatever the team wants him to do."
