Chicago Bulls rookie Dalen Terry may not have had much impact this season, but he will get the chance to make one during Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, as he has been tasked with being the franchise’s representative during the event. The Bulls definitely need luck on their side, as they only have a minuscule 1.8% chance of snagging the top pick and the right to draft French basketball sensation Victor Wembanyama.

Luck needed

As small as a chance of 1.8% is, the Bulls will definitely take it. After all, it’s slightly better than the 1.7% odds they had in the 2008 NBA Draft Lottery, which they won to earn the right to pick Derrick Rose. The former Memphis star, of course, electrified the Windy City and revitalized the franchise, giving it its first true superstar since Michael Jordan.

Rose went on to win Rookie of the Year and, a few years later, the Most Valuable Player award, becoming the youngest player ever to win the most prestigious individual award in the Association.

Top-four pick

If the Bulls don’t miraculously come away with the top pick, they surely will settle for a top-four selection, which they will get to keep. If it falls out of the top four, the pick will be conveyed to the Orlando Magic as part of the transaction involving Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls, though, only have an 8.5 chance of bagging a top-four pick, making the selection of a franchise-altering talent unlikely.

One thing’s for sure, next week's even could have major implications for the Bulls. It could determine their immediate future and become a defining moment for the franchise as it works to return to contention.
