"The Bulls are exactly where you don't want to be" - Jalen Rose expects the Chicago Bulls to blow it up in the offseason

Safe to say, the Chicago Bulls are one of the most disappointing teams this season.

After forging a successful campaign last year, wherein they made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2015, the Bulls have taken a massive step back. With a 26-33 record, the Bulls are currently two games behind the Toronto Raptors for the last spot in the Play-in Tournament.

Former NBA player-turned-analyst Jalen Rose says the Bulls are in a tight spot and may be better off blowing their entire roster up in the offseason.

"The Bulls are exactly where you don't want to be," said Rose on NBA Today.

High salaries, subpar results

With over $147 million in salaries on the books this season, the Bulls have one of the highest payrolls in the league. Unfortunately, they haven't been able to turn that investment into victories, as their playoff chances look slimmer by the day.

Rose explained this is not a viable road to success as the pieces the Bulls currently have—particularly the trio of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic—clearly do not fit.

"They have high-priced players that Zach just mentioned that you can't necessarily all win with. And as Tristan mentioned, the parts don't necessarily fit. DeMar DeRozan is a perennial All-Star, a bucket. LaVine is also that but Vucevic as a big, while he can score the ball, a lot of times he clogs up the paint, and he's not much of a shot blocker or defender," said Rose.

High time to make changes

Much to the surprise of many, the Bulls did not make any changes at the trade deadline, opting to keep the status quo. Rose insists that was a mistake, and it's probably best for the Bulls to make some drastic changes this offseason if they want to move up in the standings next year.

That means that everyone should be available in a trade, including their Big Three of DeRozan, LaVine, and Vucevic.

"I anticipate the Bulls are gonna blow this thing up. And I think after this season, don't be surprised if they try to trade a Lavine and try to figure out if they want to keep a Vucevic," said Rose.
