The Chicago Bulls color commentator Stacey King has seen Derrick Rose grow from a young, exciting rookie to the youngest MVP award winner in NBA history. And now, as Rose's career enters its twilight, King hopes the 34-year-old can move to a team where his on-court contributions can be valued more than his locker-room presence.

A special player

After an NBA career that saw him win three titles during the Bulls' first "three-peat," King soon transitioned to a profession in the media. He's been doing color commentary for the Bulls since 2006 and has seen Rose's career evolve from day one.

Although Rose has been with the New York Knicks since 2020, King still keeps track of him and wishes for the veteran to close his career on his terms.

The Knicks still want Rose

Although there have been rumors of a buyout involving Rose, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has shot them down, saying he and the team are fond of the veteran leader and want him to stay.

"He's contributing in a major way to our team," Thibodeau said.

As a coach who trusts veterans more than youngsters, it makes perfect sense for Thibodeau to hang on to Rose, who has been tasked with helping to bring up the team's guards, such as Marty McBride, Immanuel Quickley, and Jalen Brunson.
