Teams with playoff aspirations reportedly targeting Pat Beverley
The partnership between Pat Beverley and the Chicago Bulls resulted in a decent amount of success towards the latter part of the regular season. With the Bulls looking down and out at the All-Star break, Beverley arrived by way of the buyout market and injected toughness into the squad, eventually pushing them to the brink of the postseason before falling short.
The veteran guard has publicly said he wants one last big payday—something the Bulls may not be able to hand the 34-year-old. However, a report revealed that Beverley remains open to returning to his hometown and continue playing for the Bulls.
Numerous suitors
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Beverley could agree to sign a new deal with the Bulls. That is, of course, highly likely if he won't be able to find a suitable deal from some contending teams who are reportedly vying for his services.
"There remains the chance for Patrick Beverley to return to Chicago, sources said, after the veteran helped the Bulls march into the play-in tournament this spring, although Beverley has drawn interest from several playoff contenders as well," Fischer wrote.
Plan B
Beverley's return to the Bulls is by no means certain. However, if that doesn't pan out and Beverley finds a new home, the Bulls may have another plan in mind, Fischer explained.
"If he were to ultimately find a new home, the rumblings of Chicago pursuing a reunion with Derrick Rose, whom the Bulls targeted in 2021 for the salary slot that ended up going to Caruso, could certainly resurface," he added.
