The Chicago Bulls have struggled to find a suitable court general to steer them to success ever since Lonzo Ball went down with a knee injury in January 2022. Since then, the Bulls have employed a revolving door of guards, the most recent being veteran Pat Beverley, who the team picked up after the trade deadline last season.

With Beverley moving to Philadelphia, the Bulls must now name a new starting point guard. The team has lots of options, but these two might be the best ones to assume the critical role.

Coby White

The last time Coby White was handed the reins to the starting point guard role, things didn't end up well for the Bulls. Chicago ended up 11th in the Eastern Conference, finishing with a 31-41 record. The team's offense was a mess, as they finished with an offensive rating that ranked 19th in the NBA.

While it was not all White's fault, he had a role in the team's struggles. Could a second shot be what White needs to prove himself worthy of the starting spot?

Last season, White showed some flashes of improvement. While he averaged a career-low 9.7 points, the North Carolina product showed substantial improvements on defense as well as shot selection and playmaking.

After a rigorous summer filled with training sessions and summer runs, White's confidence is at an all-time high. While the pressure is on for him to succeed, he's more than up for the challenge and is confident in his abilities to take this Bulls team to the next level.

Jevon Carter

After dutifully playing a reserve role for most of his career, could Jevon Carter be ready to take on starting responsibilities? This will be a daunting task as he would be matched up every night against top-tier guards such as Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and Stephen Curry.

But Carter is no stranger to taking on tough assignments as he has proven himself time and again against some of the best players in the NBA. His agility, speed, and tenacity have been praised by both fans and media alike. If he can find his niche within Chicago's offense, this could be the very thing that pushes the Bulls to the playoffs.
