After a successful stint with the Phoenix Suns, where he seamlessly backed up superstars Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul, Torrey Craig hopes to bring momentum and experience to the Chicago Bulls. Recently signed to a two-year deal worth $5 million, Torrey is a six-year pro who knows how to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor, especially on defense.

Learned a lot in Phoenix

Torrey arrives in Chicago with his confidence at an all-time high. After stints in Denver, Milwaukee, and Indiana, the 6-foot-7 forward carved out a starting role in Phoenix, playing alongside the aforementioned stars and up-and-coming center Deandre Ayton. Torrey started 60 games for the Suns and averaged 7.4 points and 5.4 rebounds, shooting a sizzling 39 percent from three-point land.

Though the Suns got ousted in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, Torrey said the experience of playing high-level basketball and learning from the players and coaches in Phoenix was invaluable.

“Winning and playing at a high level it definitely translates. I’m going to ride that confidence here,” Craig said.

Valuable info

Torrey added that he can also provide the team’s premier perimeter weapons with precious information that can help them get easy buckets.

“Everybody knows two of the most talented scorers on the team with LaVine and DeRozan. Once those guys get it going, it’s pretty much a wrap,” Torrey shared. “As a defender, I can give those guys tips and advice on what teams want to do and how they want to guard them and the insight I had playing against those guys to give them any edge they need.”
