Victor Wembanyama picks Michael Jordan to lead his "save the world" starting five

It's a scenario that basketball fans are all too familiar with: aliens are planning to take over the planet, and the only thing that can stop them is if we can beat them in a game of basketball. Therein lies the tricky task of selecting the players who would represent our planet in this game.
This year's top pick of the NBA Draft—Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs—was handed this task, and he did not hesitate to put the GOAT, Michael Jordan, at the top of his list. But who would join His Airness?
MJ as the playmaker
With the fate of the world at stake, Wembanyama knew he had to pick the greatest player in NBA history—Michael Jordan. His Airness would serve as the de facto playmaker on this team, and it was an easy decision for Wembanyama to make.
To accompany Jordan in the backcourt of his dream team, Wemby chose two-time MVP Steph Curry from the Golden State Warriors. With his deadly shooting ability and unmatched court vision, Curry's presence on the floor would be invaluable in helping Jordan navigate the offense.
Formidable frontcourt
The team's frontcourt would consist of LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers and another Spurs great, Tim Duncan. James, an all-time great in his own right, would be able to provide an additional scoring punch and playmaking from the forward position. Meanwhile, Duncan's defensive prowess and consistent midrange jump shot would solidify the team's interior presence while spacing the floor for Jordan and Curry.
In addition to these four superstars, Wembanyama rounded out the quintet by selecting man-mountain Shaquille O'Neal as his center. O'Neal, a four-time NBA champion and one of the most dominant big men of all time, would be able to bully opponents in the paint while providing another scoring option for Jordan and Curry to pass to on drives.
