What was LeBron James' best game against the Chicago Bulls?
LeBron James has had plenty of memorable games against every single team in the NBA. From his dominant 48-point showing in Game 5 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals against the Detroit Pistons to his memorable performances against the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals, there has been no shortage of special games from LeBron.
When it comes to the Chicago Bulls, though, LeBron has played them a whopping 60 times in his 20-year career. His best game against the Bulls came on March 17, 2018 when, as a Cleveland Cavalier, he dropped an epic triple-double in a 114-109 win at the United Center.
Dominance against the Bulls
To be fair, no team has found the recipe to stopping the future Hall of Famer. The Bulls, in particular, have felt the wrath of LeBron for many years, as he has averaged 28.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.7 steals per game against them. On this particular evening, LeBron was extra special, delivering 33 points on 15-of-26 shooting, 13 rebounds, 12 assists, two steals, and a block.
Even though Chicago was shorthanded, playing without then-aces Lauri Markkanen and Kris Dunn, along with current Bull Zach LaVine, the Bulls erased a 17-point deficit and tied the game at 99. However, Jordan Clarkson completed a four-point play while LeBron canned a pull-up jumper to put the game away.
Legendary career
LeBron has already surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points scored in NBA history, with 38,388 of them. He accomplished the feat on Tuesday in the Los Angeles Lakers 133-130 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. That remarkable—and probably unbreakable feat—was celebrated by numerous Bulls led by DeMar DeRozan.
LeBron and the Bulls have had many battles over the years, with the King usually coming out victorious. His career to date is a testament to his greatness, and his triple-double against Chicago back in 2018 was just another reminder of that.
