The Chicago Bulls notched their third win in this six-game homestand after defeating the Atlanta Hawks, 118-113, on Tuesday night. Here are two takeaways from the terrific bounce-back victory.

The man in the middle

The Bulls received terrible news before the game as it was learned that All-Star center Nikola Vucevic would be sidelined indefinitely due to an injured adductor. However, the Bulls have a luxury most teams in the NBA do not have: they have another All-Star backing Vooch up—Andre Drummond.

Although the 11-year pro has become a journeyman, playing for five different teams since 2019, it must not be forgotten that the 6-foot-11 big man is a two-time All-Star, a member of the All-NBA Third Team in 2016, and a four-time rebounding champion. He reminded everyone of the player he still is as he recorded 24 points on 11-of-13 shooting and 25 rebounds against the Hawks.

Coby White goes cold from beyond the arc

Coby White has hit a cold spell from three-point range. Averaging three triples per game and shooting 40 percent from rainbow country this season, the former Tar Heel has not made a single three-pointer in the last two games. After missing eight three-point attempts in the Bulls’ previous game versus Cleveland, White missed seven more against the Hawks on Tuesday.

Despite the sour shooting, White still did damage against the Hawks, putting up 18 points, five boards, and five assists. Another guard, Ayo Dosunmu, also held his own, recording 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
