After riding the high of four straight wins, the Chicago Bulls now find themselves back in familiar territory. The Bulls’ 114-106 loss to the reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets was the team’s second in a row, dropping them to 9-16 for the season.

However, the Bulls’ rising star Coby White, who has taken a more prominent role on the team in the absence of All-Star Zach LaVine, said they’re going to keep grinding and not lose their confidence despite the consecutive setbacks.

Take the challenge

The Bulls are coming off a tough two-game stretch that pitted them against two legitimate title-contending teams—the Milwaukee Bucks and the Nuggets. Chicago fought hard both times, losing in overtime to the Bucks, 133-129, and then ran out of gas against a Nuggets team that didn’t suit up star guard Jamal Murray and lost ace big man Nikola Jokic to an early ejection.

“We’re going to take on the challenge (moving forward). We fought hard (in) both of these games and both of those teams are championship contender teams. But it wasn’t enough,” White, who had 25 points and eight assists against the Nuggets, said.

Keep doing what they’ve been doing

White vowed that his squad will not waver in their defiance this season. Despite the odds stacked against them—what with the extended absence of LaVine and the uncertainty surrounding the core of the team—White said they’ll keep on doing the things that have made them a better team of late.

“We don’t lose any confidence. We’re going to keep doing what we are doing, we’re going to compete and be together and come out ready for Miami (Thursday and Saturday). We’ve just got to be prepared for two really good teams (76ers Monday) on this trip,” White said.
