Charles Barkley hilariously suggests moving the underperforming Chicago Bulls to a new city
The Chicago Bulls have been the butt of jokes for a while now, and Charles Barkley savagely gave his take on the sorry state of the team during a recent broadcast of NBA on TNT, saying while the NBA is considering having teams in other cities, that perhaps they should consider moving the Bulls instead.
So bad
How bad have the Bulls been this season? If not for the freefalling Detroit Pistons, which has lost 15 games in a row, Chicago’s 5-14 record would establish them as the second-worst team in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls have lost eight of their last nine games and finished their stint in the inaugural In-Season Tournament without a single victory to their name.
As the NBA on TNT crew discussed the Bulls-Celtics match, the one-time league MVP hilariously suggested that the NBA move the Bulls out of the Windy City.
“I don’t know what the hell the Bulls are doing. We’re trying to get a team in Seattle and Vegas. Let’s move this one,” Barkley said.
No longer relevant
Barkley is quite familiar with Bulls basketball. In fact, he experienced it first-hand when he and the Phoenix Suns battled Michael Jordan and the Bulls in the 1993 NBA Finals. “Sir Charles” felt the passion of Bulls fans when he took the court at the Chicago Stadium.
Nowadays, Barkley's comments reflect the current state of Bulls basketball. They have been struggling to find their footing over the past few seasons, and it appears there’s no other path to take than a rebuild.
“I don’t understand what they’re doing in Chicago. This team, they ain’t even relevant anymore,” Barkley shared.
