Chicago Bulls legends led by the “Greatest of All Time,” Michael Jordan, will be feted in the franchise’s inaugural “Ring of Honor.” The class of 2024 features 13 individuals and the entire 1995-1996 Bulls squad, which will be honored in a private gala at the United Center on January 11 and then a halftime ceremony on January 12 when Chicago hosts the Golden State Warriors.

First-of-its-kind celebration

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr played a key role on that 1995-1996 Bulls team that established what was then the league record for most wins in a single season with 72. Every single member of that team—from players to coaches to the staff—will be inducted into the Ring of Honor.

“The Chicago Bulls Ring of Honor will be a first-of-its-kind celebration honoring many of the legends who have helped shape our organization over the past 57 years,” Bulls President Michael Reinsdorf said in a press release.

“They have deep connections to our fans and community and represent a spirit of competition, hard work, and toughness.”

Bulls legends

The 13 Bulls legends who earned spots in the first-ever Ring of Honor are led by His Airness and his longtime teammate Scottie Pippen. Also in the Ring of Honor are Bob Love, Jerry Sloan, Artis Gilmore, coach Phil Jackson, coach and broadcaster and ambassador Johnny “Red” Kerr, original owner Dick Klein, general manager Jerry Krause, Toni Kukoc, Dennis Rodman, Chet Walker and assistant coach Tex Winter.

It will be curious to see Jordan and Pippen in the same space together—if at all. The two have seen their relationship deteriorate in past years, more so after the release of the documentary “The Last Dance.”
