DeMar DeRozan says the NBA has a lot of guys who don't love the game

Deebo sounds off on how some players in the NBA don’t put in the work like they’re supposed to.

The NBA may be the best basketball league in the entire world, but Chicago Bulls superstar DeMar DeRozan admits it also has its fair share of bad apples.

"We do got a lot of sorry MFs in the league," said Deebo in his appearance on Paul George's latest podcast.

Keeping it real

There are over 400 players in the NBA right now, but both Deebo and PG admit there are around 100 of them who don't love the game as they should. Normally a laidback guy, the six-time All-Star did not mince words in describing what these players are like.

"I'm the type of dude, I keep my opinions to myself, I chill, I play the backseat, but being in the league for so long, you realize how many MFs don't love the game of basketball, who take it for granted, who feel so entitled, who just want everything that comes with it but don't want to put the work in," said DeRozan, whose work ethic is just as famous as his midrange jumper.

Earn your spot

Though he was the ninth pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, DeRozan was not given a free pass for anything. He worked hard and earned his spot in the starting lineup, playing in 82 games in two of his first four seasons. Fast forward to now and Deebo says there are players that come in the NBA thinking they're going to get rotation minutes right away.

"It's so frustrating. We played in an era where we had to earn everything. So you got so many guys coming in thinking like they should just be playing because their homeboy told them they was nice. And it's like, 'Bro, you not good.'"
