NBA legend Kevin Garnett has stories for days, and one of his most memorable ones involves a certain Chicago Bulls Hall of Fame player. There are a few indisputable constants in life: death, taxes, and not talking trash to His Airness. A feisty fellow himself, KG just couldn’t help yapping to MJ one time and instantly paid the price.

Sauced him

Speaking on KG Certified to Los Angeles Clippers guard Bones Hyland, KG was sharing some basketball words of wisdom to the young guard when he got around to sharing an anecdote about talking trash to the Chicago Bulls legend. This time, it involved KG stealing the ball from Jordan.

“I f*** around and did that with MJ one time dog, and picked that sh** up. I sauced him, yo,” said KG.

As fiery as KG is, he was also one of the smartest players of his time. And during this game, he noticed a pattern in MJ’s moves that allowed him to be a step ahead.

“I caught him. He was going two dribbles coming up left, and he was trying to reject baseline. So I played the middle. I said ‘Man, if he do this s*** again, I’ma pick this s***,’” shared KG.

Sure enough, KG stole the ball. However, little did he know that him saying something extra to Jordan would be a massive mistake.

Payback time

It didn’t take long for MJ to get his revenge as on the very next Bulls’ possession, Jordan called the very same play, albeit to a different result.

“Real story, the next time down, M called the same play. Bones, this is real life. I was in front of the n*****. I was right in front of him. I blinked, dog, and when my eyes opened, the n**** was at the cup (mimicking a layup),” said KG, much to the delight of Hyland, who was laughing his socks off.
