It's no secret that Michael Jordan is one of the wealthiest athletes in the world. However, what may come as a surprise is how much money he has turned down throughout his illustrious career. In a recent interview, Jordan's agent David Falk revealed that he had brought MJ a deal three years ago for 100 million dollars, and the Chicago Bulls legend turned it down!

A Bull that is as wise as a fox

According to Spotrac, Jordan earned a whopping $93 million throughout his 16-year career with the Bulls and the Washington Wizards. However, that figure pales compared to what he has raked in through his endorsement deals—over a billion dollars! It is safe to say that Jordan knows a thing or two about making money. So, when Falk presented him with a deal that would have paid him $100 million three years ago, it is no surprise that he turned it down.

"Jordan turned down a deal to do a one-day golf appearance when he was in Asia a few years ago for a pre-season game with Charlotte. And some woman in the Philippines offered me seven million dollars for one day, wanted him to play in a golf tournament. And he turned it down," shared Falk.

"I brought him a deal three years ago for 100 million dollars. And all he had to do, other than give his name and likeness, was make one two-hour appearance to announce the deal. And he turned it down."

A generational talent making generational wealth

Forbes currently pegs Jordan's net worth at a mind-boggling $1.7 billion, making him the wealthiest retired athlete in the world. It is safe to say that Jordan's business acumen is unrivaled, and his ability to generate wealth is simply peerless. It is truly amazing to think about how much money Jordan has turned down throughout his career, but it is a testament to his business savvy.

One can only imagine what MJ would have done if he had taken Falk's deal three years ago. But then again, Jordan has always been a master of timing and knowing precisely when to strike. After all, that is one of the many reasons he is considered the greatest basketball player.
