Donovan Mitchell Feels ‘100 Percent’ Ready For Playoffs, Cavs News
Donovan Mitchell’s health has been a hot topic of discussion for Cleveland Cavaliers fans as they look ahead to the playoffs. While it’ll continue to be part of the conversation, the All-Star guard stressed that he’s ready for the postseason to begin.
When asked on Wednesday at practice about his health and how he's feeling, Mitchell said with a big smile on his face, “Good. I’m excited.” He didn’t elaborate too much on the specifics, but Mitchell said “I’m 100 percent. I’m good. I’m ready to go.”
This is just what fans want to hear as the Cavs are a few days away from opening the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Orlando Magic.
Mitchell has been plagued with both a knee bone bruise and a broken nose that kept him sidelined for the majority of the second half of the season. He wasn’t playing in back-to-backs as part of his pain management up until last week.
When Mitchell did play, he admitted that he didn’t quite feel right and couldn’t move the same on his knee. However, Spida says that’s all behind him and the stats back it up too.
Mitchell averaged 24 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 steals in his last four games of the regular season. He also show the ball 44 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc.
The Magic may be a young team with limited playoff experience, but they’re still a formidable for. The Cavs are going to need Mitchell to be playing at his highest level if they hope to move onto the second round this year.
