REPORT: Cavs Interested In Bojan Bogdanovic
There are going to be a number of rumors and reports about who the Cavs may become interested in and want to trade for from now until the deadline on February 9. Most of those players Cleveland wants to add are going to be wings that can knock down the three.
One of those players that the Cavs are reportedly interested in is Detroit's Bojan Bogdanovic.
The Pistons currently sit at 14th in the Eastern Conference with an 11-30 record. Anyone who isn't considered in their young core could be moved if they can get something of value for them, and this includes Bojan.
The small forward is averaging a career-best 21.1 points per game on an incredible .488 field goal percentage. These numbers are perhaps a little inflated with the Pistons team being so you injuries to Cade Cunningman and now Marvin Bagley III.
There are a lot of shots for Bogdanovic to take who is currently attempting 14.3 per game.
Is Bojan a good fit with the Cavs? The short answer is, yes. The long answer is also yes, but it would be pretty complicated for the teams to get a deal done.
Bogdanovic is making over $19 million per season through 2024/25 which would make their salary cap situation even worse and more complicated for Cleveland than it already is. The Cavs also have very little draft capital available after the Donovan Mitchell trade.
This would require Cleveland to use either Isaac Okoro, Cedi Osman, or Caris LeVert as trade pieces and who's to say that Detroit would value their return?
Perhaps there is a third team that would want to get involved, but that usually makes things even more complex.
The trade deadline is just over a month away so if the Cavs do want to strengthen the roster for this season, they need to stay active in the trade market.
