Caris LeVert's Final Injury Status For Cavs-Hawks
The latest member of the Cleveland Cavaliers who is dealing with a lingering injury is Caris LeVert. Cleveland's go-to reserve is currently working through a right wrist sprain.
He was doubtful leading up to the game but LeVert has officially been ruled OUT against the Atlanta Hawks, per NBA's Injury Report.
This injury is nothing new for Levert. He was questionable leading up to Cleveland's game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. LeVert went through a workout early that morning with his wrist heavily taped up and then participated in a shootaround just before the game.
Levert did end up playing against the Bucks but, if the score sheet is a sign of anything, that right wrist was clearly bothering him. He scored just four points in 21 minutes of play and shot 14% (1-7) from the field.
Cleveland's bench has played a massive role in their current season-high six-game winning streak and helping the Cavaliers go 11-3 since Darius Garland and Evan Mobley were sidelined. LeVert has played a major part in this too.
He's currently averaging 16.0 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.5 rebounds this season and is a legit contender in the six-man of the year conversation.
LeVert may not be in the starting rotation but that doesn't make him any less of a key piece to the team's overall success. It's important that he rests and gets his wrist healthy so it doesn't evolve into something bigger. The Cavs have already had enough players sit out due to injury and they don't need another one to join them.
