Cavaliers On A Run That's Only Happened One Other Time In Franchise History

On top of winning their sixth in a row, the victory also marked Cleveland's 14th win over their last 15 games. It is just the second time in franchise history that the Cavaliers have gone 14-1 over a 15-game stretch a stretch. The only other time the Wine and Gold pulled off that feat was during the 2008-2009 season, in what was James' sixth year in the league.
Back then, James' and company rattled off a 14-1 record very early in the season, with the first win of the run coming in just the fourth game of the year, as Cleveland won eight straight. After a loss to the Pistons on Nov. 19, 2008, the team rattled off six more wins to match the current Cavs streak.
That year, the run didn't stop at 14-1 in 15 games though. That Cavaliers team actually went on to win five more games beyond that initial 14 to post a 19-1 record in 20 games before obtaining a second loss to their record.
Like a number of the franchises top records, streaks and marks, this one last happened during James' tenure with the organization. That means this year's squad is the first to reach a 14-1 record in 15 games outside of James' 11 years in Cleveland.
This youthful, new look Cavs team is certainly writing its own chapter in the franchise record books.
