Cavs Insider Podcast: Could Emoni Bates Have A Bigger Impact Than We Thought?

With three preseason games under their belt, the Cleveland Cavaliers have showcased some serious depth with their roster

After a 120-89 win over Maccabi Ra'anana on Monday night, Spencer German and Tommy wild sit down for the latest episode of the Cavs Insider Podcast, to discuss some of the major takeaways from the Cleveland Cavaliers preseason thus far. 

Though three preseason games, rookie Emoni Bates has improved his marks each and every night out. With the context that it is just the summer league and preseason, could Bates' role this season be greater than people initially thought? ,

Then, Bates is one piece of a very deep Cavs bench that's been on full display this preseason. The guys discuss just how deep Cleveland's bench really could be and how J.B. Bickerstaff could take advantage of a 10-man-plus rotation this year. That depth would give the Cavs head man a lot of options in terms of lineups too. Plus, Spencer gets excited about the prospect of Ricky Rubio potentially returning to the team to captain the Cavs second unit.

From there, the conversations evolves into what the role of new Cavalier Georges Niang and how comfortable he already looks in the system and around his new teammates.

Cleveland wraps up the preseason on Friday night against the Indiana Pacers before the regular season officially tips for the wine and gold next Wednesday, Oct. 25 on the road in Brooklyn. The Cavs home opener is slated for Friday, Oct. 27 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
