Cedi Osman Passes J.R. Smith On Cavs All-Time Three Pointers Made List
The Cavs-Grizzlies game sure has been an eventful one!
We've already had some fabulous dunks, lead changes, and a fight that resulted in a double ejection. Now Cedi Osman makes Cavs history.
At the end of the third quarter, Osman knocked down his third three of the night which moved him into fifth on the Cavaliers' all-time three-pointers made list. This is a very special moment for Cedi, but it's even more monumental considering who he passed up.
Osman moved ahead of beloved former Cavs shooting guard J.R. Smith.
Smith was traded to the Cavaliers during the 2014-15 season as a part of the team assembled to bring Cleveland to the promised land. That's exactly what he did as Smith was a member of the 2016 team that defeated the Golden State Warriors in the Finals and overcame a 3-1 deficit.
J.R. played some great basketball while in a Cavs uniform. He averaged 10.8 points a game and shot 38 percent from three over the five seasons he played in Cleveland. Smith hasn't shied away from associating himself with Cleveland even after he left the organization.
Cedi has become a fan favorite in his own right so seeing him pass J.R. here brings smiles all around.
