Since the 2021-22 season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been broadcasting their local games on Bally Sports.

The NBA and Bally Sports’ parent company, Diamond Sports Group, agreed to a deal this past November that would allow Bally Sports regional networks to broadcast NBA games for the rest of this season.

However, a few of Cleveland’s upcoming local game broadcasts will not be broadcasted by Bally Sports via paid cable television, nor will they be streaming on the Bally Sports app.

This is because on Tuesday, the Cavaliers announced that they have partnered with Gray Television to broadcast five select upcoming games via free, over-the-air television.

Here are the games that will be broadcasted on WUAB Channel 43 in Northeast Ohio and various additional channels throughout the state of Ohio:

“This partnership with Gray allows us to test out a new model of distribution that has the potential to reach more of our fans across our region,” Cavaliers, Rock Entertainment Group, and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse CEO Nic Barlage said in the team’s official release.

According to the team’s official release, this partnership will allow these games to be broadcasted to an area more than twice the size than normal, and to up to 4.9 million households.

At the moment, a pair of NBA teams are broadcasting their local games on free, over-the-air television. The Phoenix Suns announced a new over-the-air broadcasting deal this past July, and the Utah Jazz announced their plan to utilize over-the-air broadcasting this past September.
