Cavaliers Lead NBA In This Stat At All-Star Break
The grueling 82-game season is something that is constantly talked about among NBA players and organizations. All of that travel in a short amount of time can even take a toll on some of the world's greatest athletes.
It's hard to find consistency when you're not sleeping in your own bed or dealing with time changes. But somehow, the Cleveland Cavaliers have found a way consistent on the floor even when they're away from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse
The Cavs currently have the best road winning percentage of 68% (17-8) in the entire NBA at the All-Star Break.
The Boston Celtics technically have the same number of wins, but Cleveland nearly beats them out as the Celtics have one more loss on the road than the wine and gold do. It's a similar situation with the Minnesota Timberwolves who have won 20 road games but have lost 11.
Cleveland's offense is averaging 113.5 points while shooting 48% from the floor and 36% from behind the arc when visiting another city. What is even more impressive is how the Cavs have been able to shut down teams in their own building. Cleveland's defense is holding their opponent to just 107.8 points on 44/34/77 shooting splits while on the road.
That's something that definitely deserves more attention.
This is a significant improvement for a Cavaliers team that struggled away from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse last season. Cleveland had a winning percentage of just 48% (20-21) last year which is partially what makes this turnaround so impressive.
Why is having a positive road record so important though? Well, when it comes playoff time this group will know what it's like to play, and succeed, in a hostile environment.
