There's been a lot of noise surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers so far this season. From injuries to a slow start to a whole new offensive identity, there have been many reasons for the team to struggle with consistency.

Even with all of that going on, Donovan Mitchell has been able to find a way to put up career-high numbers in just about every major statistical category.

Spida is currently averaging 27.9 points, 5.7 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks a game. The only stat that isn't a career-high for the 27-year-old is in the point category. He averaged 28.3 points with the Cavs in 2022-23 which still stands as his highest in one season.

Everything else is a new high for Mitchell only making his All-Star case stronger. It's also one of the reasons why so many teams are interested in trading for him. Despite all of the reported inquiries into the shooting guard's availability, the Cavaliers front office has been stern on their stance that they will not be trading him this season.

Mitchell has always been known as one of the NBA's best pure scorers and that remains true. However, these numbers also prove that he's much more than that. He's stepped in the absence of both Darius Garland and Evan Mobley and has helped Cleveland get to the position they're in now.

The Cavs have their eyes set on making a big postseason run come the Spring. One that lasts much longer than their quick five-game series with the New York Knicks last April.

Mitchell needs to keep playing at this high level in order to do that.
