Cavs News: Injury Update On Darius Garland, Max Strus
One word summarizes the Cleveland Cavaliers' season up to this point: injuries. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff gave an update on Darius Garland and Max Strus after the team defeated the Brooklyn Nets in Paris.
Darius Garland
Darius Garland has been out since December 15 when the team announced that he sustained a fractured jaw. The initial diagnosis was that he'd be out for six to eight weeks. We're coming up on that six-week mark which has fans asking whether a DG return is on the way.
When asked about whether Garland may be available against the Chicago Bulls on Monday, J.B. Bickerstaff said that he's going to miss "a few more games" but did not say how many.
Hopefully, DG's return is getting close, but it sounds like it'll still be a little bit.
Max Strus
Max Strus only played six minutes in Cleveland's victory in Paris. He left the game with what the team is calling "knee soreness" but this doesn't sound like it's anything new for Strus.
Bickertaff said, "Max has been bothered by some knee stuff so we've been trying to monitor and try to do what's right by him. But just tonight, we thought it was best to save him from himself a little bit. Obviously, he wants to play every minute so we just thought it was the right thing to do to protect him and get him some treatment and see how he feels for Chicago on Monday."
Hopefully, a little extra rest is all Strus needs and he won't have to miss another game.
