Cavs Will Remain Shorthanded Against Nets
The Cleveland Cavaliers will once again be undermanned as they prepare to take on the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday evening. Once again, the team will be without more than half of their starting five, per NBA's injury report.
Donovan Mitchell - OUT
Donovan Mitchell will remain OUT on Sunday evening against the Brooklyn Nets.
He received an injection last Monday to help heal a bone bruise in his knee. The initial update was that he'd miss the team's matchups with the Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, and Minnesota Timberwolves with a reevaluation to come over the weekend. However, he's set to miss his sixth straight game.
Max Strus - OUT
Max Strus will also be OUT against the Nets.
Strus had played every game up to the season up until last week. He subbed out in the fourth quarter of Cleveland's matchup with the Knicks and never returned. J.B. Bickerstaff said that Max's injury more has to do with the tole a player takes with the overall season. Strus is averaging a career-high 32.2 minutes a game.
Evan Mobley - OUT
The third routine starter who will be OUT against the Nets is Evan Mobley.
Mobley visibly rolled his ankle against the Celtics when he was landing following a dunk. There've been very limited updates on his status. There has been one report that he will be out for an "extended time" which could be devastating for the Cavaliers.
