Cavaliers Without Star Guard Against Nuggets
The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to struggle with injuries as the NBA season reaches its first month. At some point, this team has to get back to full strength, but it won't be on Sunday night.
This is who remains out as they prepare to take on the defending champion Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.
Donovan Mitchell - Out
Donovan Mitchell was sidelined on Friday night with a right hamstring strain. This is the same injury that will keep him out on Sunday against the Nuggets.
Missing Mitchell is a huge blow for this Cavalier offense. He leads the team with 29.2 points per game shooting 48 percent from the floor including 39 percent from behind the arc.
It's important that Mitchell returns to the floor when he's healthy, and hopefully, that's sooner than later.
Isaac Okoro - OUT
Another player the Cavs will be without is Isaac Okoro.
The fourth-year guard had a strong start to the season but found himself on the injury report with a knee injury before the team's Western Conference road trip.
Cleveland is still waiting for Okoro to make his return as they continue to navigate all of these injuries.
Caris LeVert
Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com is reporting that Caris LeVert will also be out against the Nuggets. He was questionable leading up to the game with left knee soreness.
Ty Jerome - OUT
The third guard that Cleveland will be without on Sunday evening is Ty Jerome, who is still working his way back from a right ankle sprain. This will be the 11th consecutive game that he has missed.
Jerome's absence has forced head coach J.B. Bickerstaff to use other players such as Caris LeVert to play point guard in the meantime.
