Darius Garland Reveals Mindset, Cavs News

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garlands shares how he approaches the game.

Growth, development, and progression are some of the biggest signs that a young player is finding their way in the NBA.

Darius Garland has certainly been a player who's seen plenty of evolution during the first four seasons of his NBA career and he only continues to get better.

But what helps Garland realize his potential and ability to put together incredible performances?

DG was asked following his season-higher 28-point performance in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 108-100 victory on Friday night about his mindset heading into matchups and this is what he had to say.

"Just go in with the mindset, just nobody can really guard me. That's been my mindset for a couple of years now. I mean, I think I'm one of the best guards in this league so you just have to come in with that confidence and the positivity that nobody can really stay in front of you out there."

This answer was not meant to come off as cocky or arrogant. It was a confident player explaining how they use their focus on the mental side of the game to affect the final results on the floor.

You have to believe you are the best to be the best.

Garland had a slow start to the season as he dealt with a hamstring injury causing him to miss four early games. However, he's starting to heat up from behind the arc and has boosted his points per game up to 18.7 following Friday night.

He'll be more than fine as long he keeps this positive and confident mindset.
