Darius Garland's Early Injury Status For Cavs-Hornets
The Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves in a position where they don't want to be during the closing stages of the regular season. That's the team dealing with a number of injuries to their starting lineup.
Darius Garland did not play against the Miami Heat on Friday night due to a quad injury he suffered in the previous game. Jarrett Allen then left the game with an eye injury and is unlikely to play on Sunday.
There is some good news on the Garland front.
He's listed as QUESTIONABLE for the Cavs' game against the Hornets. So even if Allen doesn't play there's still a chance Cleveland has their starting frontcourt.
It appears that Garland's injury isn't as severe as it could be. He played through the original injury on Wednesday night, even though it was clear he was laboring. DG was originally listed as a game-time decision for Friday, meaning there was some hope that he could suit up.
Hopefully, Garland's status leans more toward the point guard playing than him missing his second consecutive game. We'll have to wait until Sunday to find out.
