Evan Mobley Silently Stole The Show In Rising Stars Competition
Those who watch the Cleveland Cavaliers on a regular basis know that Evan Mobley may not be the focal point of the offense are get his name called on the broadcast all too often. But that doesn't mean he isn't contributing to his team's success.
The same can be said for Mobley's performance in the Rising Stars competition on Friday night.
Mobley helped his team reach the championship of the mini-tournament through his defense and playmaking ability. Now, this is All-Star Weekend so there's no chance that defense is going to get the headline. However, this is a compilation of the league's best young players and Mobley established himself as Team Jokim's stopper.
In the first game, Mobley finished with eight points, two blocks, and two steals. His +/- of eight was also the third-highest on the team. Mobley did not score in the championship game but continued to play that solid defense by collecting a steal.
Check out some of his highlights from the competition:
Mobley may not have put on the scoring performance that Jose Alvarado had, but he did showcase what makes him one of the best young players in the NBA.
