J.B. Bickerstaff's Honest Reaction To Cavaliers' Gritty Win Over 76ers
The Cleveland Cavaliers didn't make it easy on themselves, but they were able to pull off an overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers which is now their fourth straight victory.
It wasn't all roses and sunshine during the game. Cleveland climbed out to an 18-point lead but lost it in the fourth quarter. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff broke down this win and what it took to keep a positive mindset despite giving up a large lead.
He had this to say after the game.
J.B. Bickerstaff
Bickerstaff didn't focus on one sole performance when recapping this win. Instead, he gave credit to the team identity for the victory.
"I think the mental toughness, trust in one another, and just not wanting to let go of the rope because they didn't want to let each other down. It's something for us obviously to learn from," said Bickerstaff.
"These guys want to do it for each other. The Cavaliers' way is always the team is greater than the individual and these got bought into it ... It's a long season and our job is just to continue to get better, and I think that's what we're doing."
The Cavaliers also finished with a season with 33 assists which made Bickerstaff smile.
He said that "to have 33 assists on 46 field goals, it shows that the ball is moving, everybody is participating in the offense. Again, you look down the line and almost everybody who played had one assist. So, everybody has bought into it. The better our team is, the better we're going to be."
