Max Strus Reaches Career Milestone With Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers made a splash in free agency this summer and acquired Max Strus from the Miami Heat via a three-team sign and trade. The five-year forward has made a quick impact on his new team and has already reached a new career milestone, too.
Cleveland played the Golden State Warriors as a part of their second game of a four-game Western Conference road trip. Once again, Strus made his impact felt on the floor as he finished the first half with 10 points.
Strus even reached a career milestone in this matchup scoring his 2,000th career point as a part of that scoring barrage.
The DePaul product was drafted by the Chicago Bulls but played just one season there. He scored only five points in a span of two games before moving on to the Heat. Strus played in Miami for the next three seasons, accumulating 1,880 points during that time. He's since racked up the other 118 points as a member of the Cavs.
Cleveland originally was drawn to Strus for his phenomenal three-point shooting ability. He's a high volume, 37% career three-point shooter, which is exactly what the Cavs were missing.
Strus has started off shooting 33% from behind the arc in nine games with his new team. With all of this in mind, it's only right that his 2,000th point came on a three-pointer.
Strus has the opportunity to set even more career milestones with the Cavaliers as he signed a four-year deal with the franchise over the summer.
