Two Cleveland Cavaliers Inside Top-10 Of FanSided’s NBA “25-Under-25” List

Evan Mobley and Darius Garland are viewed as two of the NBA's premier players under the age of 25.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have an abundance of young talent set to take the floor for the 2023-24 season.

Of the 21 players on Cleveland’s training camp roster, just three are aged 30 or older: Ricky Rubio (32 years old), Tristan Thompson (32 years old), and Georges Niang (30 years old).

Cleveland’s core of Donovan Mitchell (27 years old), and Jarrett Allen (25 years old), Darius Garland (23 years old), and Evan Mobley (22 years old), are all under the age of 28 and ranked in the top 50 of ESPN’s Top 100 “NBArank” list.

Mobley and Garland have each garnered another ranking, this time in the top-10 of FanSided’s “25-under-25” list for the upcoming season.

Mobley makes his way onto the list at number 10. FanSided says that the forward, “is a defensive cheat code the Cleveland Cavaliers are still learning to unlock. This could be the year he makes the leap to two-way superstardom.”

The seven-footer was named to the 2022-23 Kia All-NBA Defensive First-Team last season, while averaging 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game and shooting 55.4% from the field offensively.

Garland enters the list at number five. FanSided says that, “The Cleveland Cavaliers have championship aspirations and they rest heavily on the ability of Darius Garland to pair with Donovan Mitchell, driving the offense with his elite shooting and creation ability.”

Over the last two seasons, the 2022 All-Star has averaged 21.6 points and 8.2 assists per game, while shooting 46.2% from the field, 39.6% from three, and 87.5% from the free throw line.

The Mobley-Garland duo has made a strong impression in the NBA so far, and they strive to make another big leap in their third year together.
