Where Was Danny Green Against The Nuggets?

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Danny Green did not play against the Denver Nuggets despite being available.

The Cleveland Cavaliers remained silent at the trade deadline and stood pat with the team they've had since the first game of the season.

Since then the roster has gone through some changes including the buyout of Kevin Love. It's also seen an addition as well with the signing of Danny Green after he was bought out by the Houston Rockets.

Green played his first game back with the Cavs since his rookie season in the last game before the All-Star break against the 76ers. In that game, he received almost 12 minutes of playing time and finished with five points and a positive +/- of 14.

A contribution such as this would make one believe Green would continue to get more playing time. However, he didn't see a minute of action against the Nuggets despite being available to play.

J.B. Bickerstaff offered an explanation after the game for why Green was absent from the rotation saying:

"We're just trying to figure out the right timing to get (Green) in. Giving guys who have been playing those minutes. There's always the weight with him playing the back-to-backs and those things as well. We're just trying to find the rhythm and the right time to get him his minutes."

Not wanting Green to partake in back-to-backs at this point in the season does make sense. This is the same reason that Ricky Rubio didn't play. Both players are coming off of ACL injuries they suffered last season so it is smart to be careful with their minutes.

However, Green's leadership and experience would've been great to have tonight with the game coming down to the wire, especially with Rubio out.

Hopefully, this means we'll get to see Green play a bigger role on Friday night when the Cavs take on the Hawks in Atlanta.
