Max Strus Can Really “Throw The Hammer Down!”

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed Max Strus to a 4-year, $63 million contract with a sign-and-trade deal this offseason with the main intention of bringing in a shooter.

Strus, who set a franchise record shooting in his first game with the Wine and Gold, had been a little touch and go from deep following that first performance.

But now, the 27-year-old is finding his rhythm, having scored 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc in tonight’s game. Not only that, but we have found out the shooter can also dunk with authority.

Within a week’s time, Strus has thrown down two poster-esque thunderous dunks, including one tonight over Detroit Pistons’ Ausar Thompson.

Craig Porter Jr. Is Making An Impact

Craig Porter Jr. is making his minutes count. In tonight’s play, he logged 15 minutes and scored 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting. He was a perfect 2-for-2 from the line and also added three rebounds, five assists, and one steal toward tonight’s victory.

This is the second time he’s scored double digits, including his 10-point game in 22 minutes against the New York Knicks. In limited action, he’s contributed offensively in every game except two where he played a combined five minutes.

Cavs Win

The Cavaliers had returned to Cleveland having split their four-game road trip on the West Coast. This included the team notching their second win over the Golden State Warriors within a week's time prior to returning to the Land.

Coming back home Friday night, the Cavs captured their first tournament win on their home court. Prior to Friday’s contest, the Cavs let their first group play game slip away in a 121-116 loss against the Pacers in Indiana on November 3.

The team will welcome the defending NBA Champions to the arena on Sunday night with Nikola Jokic leading the way for the Denver Nuggets
