DeMarcus Cousins Thinks Boston Celtics are Best Team in Eastern Conference
Following their victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, the Boston Celtics overtook the top position in the Eastern Conference standings. As a result, Philadelphia was relegated to the second spot in the standings.
On a recent episode of Bully Ball, Rachel Nichols asked DeMarcus Cousins whether the 76ers are the best team in the Eastern Conference. As captured by Showtime Basketball, Cousins favored the Celtics.
"The Celtics team is so well put together, I just don't really see any team getting past them," said Cousins. "And I think at a certain point the Sixers will run out of firepower. I could be wrong, but my gut is telling me they'll run out of firepower, especially during the playoffs when schemes start getting into play and adjustments are made on the defensive end."
The 76ers’ roster features the dynamic duo of reigning MVP Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Embiid ranked second on the latest KIA MVP Ladder, while Maxey was on the verge of placing within the top 10.
Boston’s starting lineup includes Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White. Each player is averaging over 13 points per game, and Tatum is the league’s season-leader in plus-minus rating.
The Celtics’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17, against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena; tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. EST.
