The Golden State Warriors now have 20 players on their training camp roster, as they have recently added Javonte Green.

Green, 30, entering his fifth season, began his career in the 2019–20 season for the Boston Celtics. He was later traded to the Chicago Bulls in his second year, where Green became a viable rotation piece. In his first full season with Chicago in year three, Green started in 45 games, averaging 7.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 26.2 minutes. He shot 53.1 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from three.

Green was undrafted in 2015 as he began playing for the LEB Plata, the third division of the Spanish Basketball League system, where he was the team's MVP as an 18-point scorer. He won a championship and MVP with LEB Plata in 2016, just before moving on to the Italian second division and Germany. Green recorded an All-Star appearance with Germany's pro basketball club Ratiopharm Ulm prior to debuting in the NBA with Boston.

Green proved he could provide stability to any lineup, displaying a skillset beyond his explosive slashing game with more guard skills. In his two full seasons with the Bulls, Green averaged 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc across 20.4 minutes.

Green is no longer eligible to be on a two-way contract, so he could receive many reps with Golden State's G League Santa Cruz Warriors. The swingman's defense and athleticism can mesh well with the Warriors, especially with his shooting improvements.
