The Boston Celtics were shut down at home to their rival Los Angeles Lakers without LeBron James and Anthony Davis on Thursday night in what was likely to be their worst loss of the season.

Prior to the game, Jaylen Brown had his name announced to the East All-Star reserves for the second time in a row, making it Boston's only good news of the evening.

The 2023 All-NBA forward spoke about his third selection following the unexpected loss.

"Any time you get, I guess, some type of recognition, it's a humility standpoint that's attached to it," Brown said. "But all the people who have supported me, been in the trenches through the ups and downs, team JB, it's a celebration and I just want to thank them for that."

Brown knows the feeling did not settle as well as it should have with the beatdown at home from their rival.

"But when you lose a game to the Lakers, it definitely takes some of the edge off."

Brown recently detailed how the Celtics have been keeping their focus, not skipping a beat or taking their foot off the gas on any given night, no matter the opponent. However, last night was the complete opposite of that, as Boston was never able to punch back.
