In their opening preseason game, the Boston Celtics took a 116-104 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Kristaps Porzingis made significant contributions during his debut as a Celtic.

The 7-foot-3 center registered 17 points and five rebounds over 25 minutes. He was Boston’s third-leading scorer of the contest, behind Payton Pritchard and Jaylen Brown.

Post-game, Porzingis conveyed the following about how much he enjoyed his first game representing Boston.

"It was insane. It was insane for a preseason game. (It was a) fun game to play in; (a) fun game to watch when Payton Pritchard was going off at the end. I don't know what to say. I'm happy to be a Celtic, I'm not gonna lie."

Porzingis is also grateful to be playing alongside two-time All-NBA First Team selection Jayson Tatum.

"Jayson draws so much attention, it just opens things up for me. It's a perfect scenario for me."

The Celtics’ next preseason game is set for Monday night at 7:30 p.m. EST against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
