Last Wednesday in the City of Brotherly Love, the Boston Celtics suffered their second loss of the season, a 106-103 defeat against their rivals from Philadelphia.

A week later, the 8-2 Celtics return to Wells Fargo Center for revenge vs. a 76ers squad that shares the same record. But both teams are shorthanded for this battle between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.

The visitors are without Jaylen Brown, who is dealing with a non-Covid illness. Head coach Joe Mazzulla said during his pregame media availability that the two-time All-Star woke up feeling under the weather on Wednesday.

Boston's also without center Kristaps Porzingis. The seven-foot-three center has a right knee contusion stemming from when he and Julius Randle bumped knees during the Celtics' 114-98 win over the New York Knicks on Monday. The seven-foot-three center produced a game-high 29 points in the previous matchup between the Celtics and Sixers.

Neemias Queta is listed on the C's injury report as available, meaning he will make his season debut after missing their first ten tilts due to right foot injury management.

Philadelphia is without Kelly Oubre, who is recovering from broken ribs and hip and right-leg injuries. Forward Nicolas Batum is out due to personal reasons.

Star center Joel Embiid is a game-time decision because of a hip injury. The 76ers lost to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday, so it's also possible they air on the side of caution and hold him out for the second half of their back-to-back.

However, during his pregame media availability, head coach Nick Nurse said he's "hopeful" Embiid will suit up for this contest after going through his pregame workout.

Round 2 between Boston and Philadelphia on Wednesday night will tip-off at 7:30 EST at Wells Fargo Center. Inside The Celtics will have content related to the matchup before, during, and afterward. Follow @BobbyKrivitsky on Twitter for updates and analysis from pregame to post.

Update: Joel Embiid is available for Wednesday's game vs. the Celtics.
