Celtics Star Jayson Tatum Opens up About Taking Down Cavaliers After OT Losses
The Boston Celtics got some revenge Wednesday night.
The Celtics welcomed the Cavaliers to TD Garden and not only got back in the win column in general after falling to the New York Knicks on Monday, but also earned their first win against Cleveland this season.
Boston squared up against the Cavaliers twice earlier this season and although both contests were tight, Cleveland in both cases came away with thrilling overtime wins against the Celtics.
Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum opened up about what it meant to finally take down the Cavaliers after the squad's big win Wednesday night.
"Those were two tough games," Tatum said as seen on CLNS Media. "We went into overtime, I think, both times we played them. Having not beating them this season and losing the last game we wanted to come out here and obviously play well the entire game and get a win back in front of our crowd.
Boston won't have to wait until it has the opportunity to face the Cavaliers again as the two teams are set to face off once again Monday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The Celtics will look to build off the win over Cleveland and will be back in action Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets and then again Sunday against the New York Knicks before facing Cleveland again Monday.
