Grant Williams has held the fate of a game in his hands numerous times this season. The most recent instance came in the Boston Celtics’ 118-117 loss to the Utah Jazz.

With five seconds remaining and Utah ahead by one point, Williams caught an inbound pass and immediately drove to the basket for a lay-up. The shot was blocked by Jazz big man Walker Kessler.

Williams opened up on the disappointing sequence.

“It’s frustrating when you have opportunities to help your team win, and you don’t do that,” Williams said to NBC Sports Boston. “That’s probably the most frustrating thing as a player.”

The 24-year-old also fumbled a game-winning opportunity during Boston’s overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in early March. With less than one second left in a tied game, Williams missed two crucial free-throw attempts.

Despite these failures, Williams redeemed himself in the final seconds of Boston’s 104-102 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. The Celtics forward won a jump ball over the 7-foot-1 Rudy Gobert, which led to Jayson Tatum’s key free-throw makes.

Williams will likely stay in Boston's late fourth quarter lineup as the season concludes.
