According to Betting-AZ, the Boston Celtics are the most searched-for American sports team in the world. The NBA franchise receives an average of 3,570,000 views per month.

The Celtics are trailed closely by the Golden State Warriors, who average 3,350,000 monthly views. The third spot on the list is held by the Miami Dolphins, who account for 2,250,000 monthly views.

Though the Celtics dominate in global search volume, this popularity doesn’t translate to comparable profit margins. Based on a 2022 report from Forbes, with $269 million in profit, the Celtics ranked 14th in profitability among American sports teams.

The most profitable American sports team is the Dallas Cowboys, who generated over $1.1 billion last year. The Cowboys, however, attract less than 2,000,000 monthly views.

A spokesperson from Betting-AZ commented on the study.

“Though the Dallas Cowboys are a symbol of American sports culture, it is interesting to see the other teams that are winning the worldwide battle for searches, but there is still a long way to go for other sports teams to see the same profits as the Dallas Cowboys.”
