Jaylen Brown Issues Challenge to Celtics Fans: 'When the Garden Gets Going, There's Nothing Like it'

The Celtics' last game before the All-Star break was a mid-February matchup with the Pistons. Despite Detroit being nearly 30 games below .500, based on the energy in the building and how loud the crowd was from the opening tip, you would've sworn it was the playoffs.

TD Garden was like that throughout the regular season, with electricity pulsing through the venue, bringing the arena to life.

But in Game 5 against the Sixers, it wasn't just the Celtics out of character. There have been nights when the home team simply didn't have it, and the crowd has tried, sometimes successfully, to give their squad the jolt they needed.

Tuesday, Boston -- the team and its fans in attendance -- were flat.

So, when Jaylen Brown came to the podium after the Celtics' 95-86 win in Philadelphia to force a Game 7 at TD Garden, the All-NBA wing issued a challenge to Boston's fan base.

"I'm hoping that it's gonna be loud, and it's gonna be rockin'. Celtics fans, y'all love to call us out, right? So, I'm gonna call you guys out this time. The energy in the Garden has been okay at best all playoffs. Game 7, if you there, or if you not there, if you in your home, if you're watching at a bar, if you're watching down the street at a friend's house, I don't care, I need you to be up, I need you to come with the energy because we gonna need every bit of it. No excuses. We need everybody, so I'm calling you guys out. Let's make sure the Garden is ready to go."

When asked about the atmosphere at Wells Fargo Center in the City of Brotherly Love, Brown responded, "It was good. But you know, when the Garden gets going, there's nothing like it. So, I'm expecting Game 7 to be a great basketball environment, and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys there."
