According to Adam Himmelsbach, Jaylen Brown is requesting his record-breaking contract extension to be announced through the 7uice Foundation’s Bridge Program. The Bridge Program, founded by Brown, is an initiative focused on promoting science and technology education among underrepresented minority communities at the high-school level.

Brown agreed to a five-year, $304 million deal. The lucrative contract outweighs Nikola Jokic’s five-year, $276 million extension, making it the new leader in average annual value.

Brown averaged a career-high 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game during the 2022-2023 season. The Georgia native was later selected to the All-NBA Second Team, which made him eligible for a supermax extension.

The historic signing suggests that Brown and Jayson Tatum will remain a long-term staple of the Boston Celtics’ roster. Last season, the dynamic duo fell one victory short of making a second-straight NBA Finals appearance.

The MIT Media Lab is hosting the 7uice Foundation’s Bridge Program. The official announcement date has yet to be disclosed.
