Jaylen Brown put together an All-NBA caliber season, generating 26.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, career-highs in both categories. He also dished out 3.5 assists per contest, matching last year's personal best.

If the two-time All-Star earns an All-NBA selection, he becomes eligible for a five-year, $290 million veteran supermax extension this summer. If not, the most the Celtics can offer Brown before free agency is four years, $189 million. It's unlikely the latter proves enticing enough for him not to play out his contract.

Off the court, Brown's work to help the region he stars in evolve has earned him a place on Boston Magazine's list of the most influential Bostonians.

Brown's activism also garnered him a spot on this list in 2021. And his work on civil rights and racial equity made him one of the Boston Globe's Bostonians of the Year in 2020.

Initiatives from the Georgia native, who's making a significant impact on and off the court in Beantown, include the 7uice Foundation, dedicated to fighting systemic racism.

The 7uice Foundation also developed the Bridge Program, which works with the Community Biotechnology Initiative at the MIT Media Lab to provide science and technology opportunities for children in Boston's underserved communities.

The way Brown uses his platform recently earned praise from Devin McCourty, who conveyed the following to Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston.

"I think JB's a guy that has been a leader on the Celtics; he's very open-minded on how he's gonna go about and tell different things; not shy about using his voice. And I think as he continues to grow and continues to have life experiences, being a father, different things like that, I'm excited to see what his growth looks like and how he's able to impact the community."
